Samuel K. Bentil, MBA, PMP®, is a construction and capital projects professional, author and international speaker whose work focuses on improving collaboration, strengthening commercial management and preventing disputes on major projects.
Throughout his career, Samuel has worked across major construction, infrastructure, mining, energy and industrial projects. His experience across project delivery, contract and commercial management, planning, claims and forensic analysis has given him a distinctive perspective on why major projects encounter delays, cost overruns and disputes—and what project leaders can do differently.
He is the author of the Amazon bestselling Avoid Construction Disputes – 10 Principles to Collaborate Effectively to Achieve On-Time and On-Budget Project Objectives.
Samuel also serves as Regional Director – Canada for CDI Experts, leading the firm’s Canadian practice and working with CDI’s international specialist network to support owners, contractors, public agencies, Indigenous communities and project stakeholders across commercial advisory, Owner’s Advisory, project controls, contract management and dispute avoidance.
Samuel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the Bob Gaglardi School of Business & Economics at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, Canada, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Risk Management Professional (RMP®).

THE PEACEMAKER’S PATH TO CONSTRUCTION
My journey to becoming a peacemaker in the construction industry is not coincidental. Growing up as the fifth of seven children, I always admired my father’s career as a Mechanical Engineer serving in the Engineering Corps of Ghana’s Military — including service as a UN peacekeeper on tours in conflict zones such as Lebanon, Kuwait and Sudan.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I aspired to follow in his footsteps. Instead, fate led me into the gold mining industry as an engineer, constructing new mines and expanding existing ones — and eventually into construction claims and disputes consulting, assisting clients in resolving contentious disputes on projects of every size, including a $15 billion LNG facility.
While I may not be a peacekeeper in war zones like my father, I have witnessed firsthand the human and commercial consequences when major projects fall into conflict — and I am deeply passionate about seeing projects completed on time and within budget, with owner and contractor working harmoniously as one team.

FAITH, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
Beyond his professional work, Samuel is a minister of the Gospel, sharing his faith through Revelation by Grace Ministries. He and his wife Elizabeth teach worshipful messianic dancing in public parks in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia during the summer, promoting community and spiritual well-being.
